Emma Watson was right about women’s rights when during her speech at the UN, she said, “we need everyone involved”. This message should definitely permeate through society and develop into concrete actions in favor of women.
Cisneros Media decided to join the #HeForShe campaign promoted by the United Nations with two broadcasted initiatives implemented across several of the group’s platforms.
This is an original idea which came from an internal Venevision contest. The campaign consists of three audiovisual pieces which show different types of violence women are exposed to. These messages were launched in coordination with the UNiTE campaign in Latin America promoted by the United Nations Secretary General as part of efforts being made around the globe to put an end to violence against women.
In addition to the above initiative, Venevision has launched an on-air version of the #HeForShe campaign in Spanish called #ElPorElla. The #ElPorElla campaign is a series of audiovisual content in which male artists, presenters and journalists send messages in favor of defending women’s rights. The campaign included creating reactions on social networks after each television program by issuing content promoting egalitarian, non-violent stances towards women.
