I am not a huge fan of gourmet restaurants and therefore it is rare that I write about them, however I do have to say my experience at the Pujol restaurant, located in Mexico City, was well worth the trip.
Javier Talán, CEO of Coyote Media House recommended it to me. I went with high expectations and was not disappointed. It is ranked 16 in the world’s top 50 restaurants and offers a set 6 course menu. What most surprised me were the number of different food textures combined into each dish.
One of my favorite dishes was the Pollo Chicharrón (Pork Crackling Chicken). It was perhaps one of the most simple plates but it was prepared perfectly. The chicken was incredibly tender with a delicious filling.
The last dessert was aptly named Happy Ending. Like all of the food, it had different textures and contradictory but harmonious flavors. It was a great way to culminate an extraordinary culinary experience.
Make sure you visit this restaurant on your next trip to Mexico!
