Technology continues to advance and now more than ever, it is possible to wear a device with an internet connection on our wrists which allows us to access geo localizing maps using GPS, a synchronized calendar and even check the latest stock market fluctuations. We are talking about the new Apple Watch, which has come on to the market to displace the traditional watch.
Apple’s first smartwatch design received a lot of flattery from Benjamin Clymer, who is in charge of the Hodinkee website specializing in luxury watches. Clymer stated that, “Apple got more details right on their watch than the vast majority of Swiss and Asian brands do with similarly priced watches, and those details add up to a really impressive piece of design”.
But not everything that glitters is gold. Despite Clymer falling in love with the Apple Watch, he pointed out it does have one flaw: “It offers so much more functionality than other digitals it’s almost embarrassing. But it’s not perfect, by any means”.
The Apple Watch’s features make the most of technology to optimize the functions of a traditional watch. These include automatically updating the time when changing time zones thanks to information received via GPS, which also provides weather and current location information to the wearer.
The watch also has four sensors on its underside to monitor the user’s biometric activity, such as pulse, fatigue and physical activity information.
The most interesting part of this innovative watch will be to see how it integrates new features and applications using future technological advances and how the public responds to these adaptations.
